Maddi received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of North Texas. After graduation, she went on to become a Research Assistant at UT Southwestern. She worked on optimizing expression, purification, and lipid kinase assay parameters for a high-throughput screen of class III phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase complex I.

Outside of the lab, Maddi enjoys digital art, painting, and spending time with her two Boston Terriers.
